The exercise catalog adapts to three things: your assessment results, your recent in-app activity, and the current state of your mood / stress / sleep signals.
This is by design — a CBT thought-record exercise is more useful when you've just logged a low mood than when you're in a good week. Surfacing the same exercises every time would be less helpful.
What changes the recommendation
Your personality
- High Neuroticism → exposure-pacing reminders, anxiety-targeted CBT exercises, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding
- Low Conscientiousness → tiny-habits / atomic-habits framings, low-friction starts
- High Openness → exercises that involve imagination, defusion (ACT), perspective-shifting
- Low Extraversion → solo-practice options surfaced over partnered ones; gentle check-ins instead of social challenges
(This isn't deterministic — it's a sort, not a filter. Every exercise stays available; the order changes.)
Recent activity
- Just logged a low mood → mood-aware exercises bubble up (behavioral activation, gratitude practice, body scan)
- Multi-day streak → the catalog leans into harder / longer exercises
- Skipped 3+ days → re-entry exercises (low-friction, 5-minute) get priority
Pathway state
If you're in an active Pathway (e.g., GAD, Social Anxiety, Stress), the day's scheduled exercise is pinned at the top. Other exercises still appear below but with secondary emphasis.
How to find a specific exercise you saw before
All exercises stay searchable in Exercise Library → All Exercises. The "Recommended for now" tab is a curated subset; the full catalog is always one click away.
You can also bookmark an exercise (heart icon) — bookmarked exercises always show in the Bookmarks tab regardless of recommendation state.
What if I want a fixed routine?
Use Goals & Systems (Medium / Deep tier) to lock in a daily exercise as part of a System. The system runs on schedule regardless of what the recommendation engine suggests for that day.
Why does a once-helpful exercise sometimes disappear from the recommended list?
Usually one of:
- Your mood / activity signal shifted and a different modality is now a better fit
- You completed it recently enough that we're rotating to give you variety
- Your tier changed (Light → Medium / Deep adds new exercises that displace others)
It's never gone — search Exercise Library to find it again.
