Short answer: you can leave at any time. Your inputs are auto-saved and you can come back later to finish.
What gets saved
Every time you advance to the next step in an exercise, the app saves:
- All text inputs you've made on completed steps
- The current step number you're on
- The timestamp
If you close the tab, switch away, lose connection, or your battery dies, your inputs survive.
How to come back
Three ways:
- The exercise card in your library shows a "Resume" badge if you're partway through
- My Workbook lists in-progress exercises at the top of the chronological feed
- Daily Review prompts "Want to finish what you started?" if you have an unfinished exercise from earlier today
What if I don't come back?
In-progress exercises auto-archive after 14 days of no activity. Your responses are kept in the database but the exercise no longer appears in the "Resume" list.
You can always start the exercise fresh — that's a new session, your old responses don't merge in.
Restarting from scratch
If you want to throw away your in-progress responses and start the exercise over:
- Open the exercise
- Click "Start over" at the top of the first step
- Confirm the discard
The old responses are deleted from your account.
What if I just want to discard a partial without restarting?
In-progress exercises can be discarded from My Workbook → "..." menu on the row → "Discard in-progress." Same effect as starting over without immediately starting again.
XP / streak impact
- In-progress exercises don't count toward your daily XP or streak. Only completed ones do.
- Resuming and completing counts as a single completion (the timestamp used is when you completed, not when you started).
- A restart that completes also counts as one completion.
Mobile network drops
Inputs are saved when you advance steps, not on every keystroke. If you lose connection mid-step, the keystrokes since the last step-advance might be lost. The app shows an "Offline" indicator when this is happening so you know to re-do the current step before moving on.
