Yes — but only by your explicit action. Exercise responses are private by default.
What's private vs. shareable
Private (default):
- Your text inputs in any exercise (thought record entries, values reflections, journal entries embedded in exercises, etc.)
- The fact that you completed an exercise (visible to you in My Workbook; not visible to others)
- Your in-progress responses
Shareable (only when you explicitly choose):
- A summary of completion ("I completed Thought Record 12 times this month") — can be opted into for partner / mentor share
- A specific exercise's responses — can be exported as a PDF and sent manually
- A copied summary text — via the "Share" button on a completed exercise's detail page
How to share with a partner / mentor
Three paths:
- Per-exercise share: open a completed exercise → "Share" → choose mentor / partner / external (email, copy-text)
- Activity share via Privacy settings: Settings → Privacy → "Show my activity to my mentor / partner" — toggles ON to share completion count (not content)
- Bulk export: Settings → Privacy → Export my data → take the resulting JSON / CSV files and send manually
All three are opt-in.
Sharing with an external therapist
The app has no direct integration with therapy platforms. To share with an external therapist:
- Use the per-exercise PDF export (top-right of completed exercise)
- Email or print the PDF
- Bring it to your session
We're aware this is more friction than ideal. A direct-share-to-therapist feature is on the Phase 13 (Clinician Portal) roadmap but not currently shipped.
What if my mentor asks me to share something I don't want to share?
You're under no obligation. Mentors are reminded in their onboarding that exercise responses are private by default and asking for them outside the share UI is a soft norm-violation.
If you feel pressured, you can:
- Decline directly
- End the mentorship (Profile → Mentor settings → End)
- Report the mentor (Settings → Privacy → Report a member)
Sharing with a clinician for crisis
If you're in acute crisis and a clinician needs your exercise context:
- Use the data export to get your full history
- Bring it to the clinical session
- Or, if it's genuinely urgent, see Crisis Resources — a hotline counselor doesn't need your exercise history to help right now
