Your account is a username and a password. There is no email on it, so there is no email reset link: a forgotten password is reset with your recovery code. Fastest fixes first.
Step 1: Use your username
Sign in with the username you picked at sign up, not an email address. Usernames use letters, numbers and underscores.
We cannot look up a forgotten username for you, because accounts have no email to send it to. Try the variations you usually use.
Step 2: Forgot your password? Use your recovery code
- On the Sign in page, choose Forgot password? Use a recovery code
- Enter your username, your recovery code and a new password (at least 8 characters)
- Choose Reset password and sign in
You are signed in with the new password. Each code works once, so a new code is shown straight away. Save it: it is your way back in next time.
If the code is refused, check that you typed all of it (the dashes are optional) and that it is your latest code, because making a new code turns the old one off. After 5 wrong codes the reset is paused for 15 minutes.
Step 3: Keep your recovery code current
While you are signed in, Settings, Recovery code shows whether you have a working code and when it was made or used. Make a new code asks for your current password, shows the new code once and turns the old one off. Do this if you have lost your code or it has been used.
Step 4: "Too many attempts"
After 5 failed sign in attempts within 15 minutes, signing in is paused for 15 minutes. The sign in page shows a countdown. Wait it out and try again, or reset your password with your recovery code.
Step 5: "Account suspended"
This is a moderation action, and the page you see says so. Contact [email protected] with your username.
Step 6: Account scheduled for deletion
If you asked to delete your account and the 30 days have not passed, sign in as usual. A strip at the top of the page shows the deletion date with Cancel deletion; you can also cancel on the Privacy controls page (Settings, Delete account).
After the 30 days the account is permanently deleted and cannot be restored. You are welcome to create a new account.
Lost both your password and your recovery code?
Then there is no way to reset the password from the app, and there is no email on the account that could prove it is yours. Write to [email protected] with your username and what happened.
